According to 9to5Mac, Apple will integrate OpenAI's latest GPT-5 model into iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26. GPT-5 boasts an 80% reduction in hallucinations and features a significant rework of OpenAI's model positioning; it automatically selects whether to use a reasoning-optimized model based on the prompt. Free users will accept the model choice, while paid ChatGPT users can manually select.
