Sütterlinschrift, a widely used German handwriting script from 1915 to the 1970s, represents the final form of Kurrent. Designed by Ludwig Sütterlin, it was banned by the Nazi regime in 1941 and replaced with 'normal script'. Despite this, Sütterlinschrift continued to be used by many post-war, fading from common use only in the 1970s.
