Spooky Quantum Entanglement Found Inside Protons
2025-01-08
Scientists have used high-energy particle collisions to discover, for the first time, quantum entanglement within individual protons. This "spooky action at a distance," even at scales smaller than a quadrillionth of a meter, challenges Einstein's relativity. The research upends our understanding of protons' internal structure, offering new insights into strong interactions and nuclear physics, and providing crucial direction for the upcoming Electron-Ion Collider (EIC).
